IAAF World Championships - LDN

London united two of the world’s biggest athletics events into one record-breaking summer. With over 2,200 athletes from 200 nations, it marked the final championship races for legends like Usain Bolt and Mo Farah.

As Senior Designer at SomeOne, I worked under Design Director Tom Myers and CCO and Founder Simon Manchipp to bring the brand to life. We expanded the core colour system into a bold, expressive visual language across stadiums, merchandise and media. I also created the official mascots, The Squad, giving the event playful, engaging characters for fans of all ages.

Our work helped sell over 705,000 tickets, setting a Guinness World Record and winning multiple industry awards. It was a project defined by colour, energy and crowd power, and one of the most memorable sporting events London has ever staged.
